The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County is rolling up its sleeves to scrub the dirt off a bit of history. Join us on Tuesday, July 26 at 6pm in Pioneer Cemetery for our secondTombstone Tuesday of the summer.
Pioneer Cemetery is the oldest public burial ground in the city. Donated by Bartholomew Wood, our town’s founder, the cemetery dates to 1812 and is the final resting place of at least 165 of our community’s earliest residents. Folks will receive a brief training on how to document and clean historic tombstones safely before grabbing a bucket and brush. Learn more about Hopkinsville’s earliest settlers while making our community a brighter place!
