Dollar General Encouraging Senior Hour At All Stores

Dollar General announced Monday night plans to dedicate their first hour each day to senior citizens, as well as close an hour earlier beginning Tuesday.

CEO Todd Vasos says they are strongly encouraging that the first hour of operation each day be dedicated solely to the shopping needs of seniors, who are most vulnerable to COVID-19. He adds in their mission of serving others, they want to provide these at-risk customers with the ability to purchase the items they need and want at the beginning of each day.

Other customers are encouraged to plan their shopping trips around the first hour of operation.

In addition, all stores will now close an hour earlier than normal. This will allow employees to clean and re-stock shelves.
