A memorial service for 86-year old Evelyn Marie Maxey Coker of Crofton and her late husband Ray Coker will be held on February 10, 2024, at 11a.m. at the Bluff Springs Church of Christ, 14425 Greenville Road, Hopkinsville, Kentucky 42240.
Dogwood Funerals and Cremations is in charge of the arrangements.
Evelyn Marie Maxey Coker died following a long illness, January 28, 2024, at Jennie Stuart Hospital.
She was born October 19, 1937, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the eldest daughter of Youree and Helen Maxey.
Evelyn graduated from Warren County High School, Class of 1955. She married Ray Allen Coker October 21st, 1955, and ultimately settled in the Hopkinsville, Kentucky area after Mr. Coker served in the Unites States Air Force at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. They celebrated 66 years of marriage in 2021.
Mrs. Coker had the pleasure to work for many well-respected doctors in Hopkinsville. Dr’s Croft and Coppedge, Dr’s Traughber and Isle and Dr. Chirravuri known as Dr Veer. She was highly regarded in her field of service.
Mrs. Coker was an active and faithful member of the Bluff Springs Church of Christ.
She was predeceased by her husband who passed away January 31, 2022, a grandson, Charley Ray Coker and great granddaughter Carolina Gentry.
She is survived by her sister, Lovetta Maxey Dillard of Bowling Green, Kentucky; her four children; Donna Coker Adams and her husband Michael of Atlanta, Georgia, Joy Coker Rogers of Crofton, Kentucky; Nelson Allen Coker and wife Teri of Crofton, Kentucky; Charley Joe Coker and wife, Brenda of Crofton, Kentucky. 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
