The City of Hopkinsville is taking nominations for its inaugural Mayor’s Community Awards, a chance to recognize and celebrate the unsung heroes in the community.
The awards will honor outstanding contributions in five categories: Small Business, Non-Profit, Volunteer(s), Education, and City Employee.
Amanda Brunt, information officer for the city, said nominations will be accepted until the final week of July.
click to download audioBrunt said the selection committee will review the submissions with the committee made up of a city employee, the city’s Administrative Coordinator, a small business representative, a non-profit representative, and an
education representative. She said they will present a short list of finalists to the mayor, who will make the final selection.
The winners will be recognized at an August reception.
