Holiday Season Ramps Up In Hopkinsville With Parade And Tree Lighting

VFW Post 1913 John Brame helped kick off the 2024 Holiday season in Hopkinsville as he led the HES Energy Net Christmas Parade and then lit the Hopkinsville Christmas Tree at Founders Square.

In spite of rain the parade made it’s way through downtown Hopkinsville Saturday night. The parade was filled with lighted floats, groups, and organizations and others.

The grand champion float was Redeemed and Restored and second place going to New Barren Springs Baptist Church. Hucks won the Spirit Award and City Salvage and Recycling won the Best Business category.

During a brief Ceremony at Founders Square following the parade Brame flipped the switch to turn on the Hopkinsville Christmas Tree. Hopkinsville Mayor J. R. Knight said it was a great night to celebrate the Christmas season.
