Graveside services for 82-year-old Sara Elizabeth "Betsy" Grubbs Fuqua of Franklin, TN, formerly of Hopkinsville, will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Riverside Cemetery.
Following the graveside service, there will be a reception for all friends and family at the Hopkinsville Golf & Country Club.
Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Sara Elizabeth “Betsy” Grubbs Fuqua, 82, of Franklin, TN and formerly of Hopkinsville, KY died at 3:50 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.
A native of Elizabethtown, KY she was born July 16, 1942 the daughter of the late Samuel Burney “S.B.” Grubbs and Lillian Jane Moore Grubbs. She was retired from Planters Bank. Betsy was instrumental in establishing Rock Steady Boxing at the Hopkinsville YMCA. She was a member of First Christian Church and the Town & Country Garden Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Quentis Fuqua; her brother: John Grubbs; and her sisters: Anne McRae and Martha Patterson.
Survivors include her daughters: Tara (Brad) Fox of Franklin, TN and Brooke (Tim) Shelton of Nashville, TN; her sister: Mary (Tom) Rives of Clarksville, TN; her grandchildren: Sarah Beth Fox, John Fox, Lily Fox, Sam Shelton, and Kate Shelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
